Privacy policy
Last updated: October 31, 2026
In short: we don't collect any data. Your photos are analyzed on your own devices and never leave them. There are no accounts, no ads and no analytics.
Your photos
PicHive reads your photo library with your permission so it can suggest albums and add photos to them in Apple Photos. All of this happens on your iPhone, iPad or Mac. Photos, thumbnails and PicHive's analysis of them are never uploaded anywhere. PicHive never deletes photos.
If a photo is stored only in your iCloud Photos, PicHive may download a small preview of it from your own iCloud, on Wi-Fi, to look at what's in it. The preview is not kept and is never sent anywhere else.
Place names
To give places readable names (for example "Fenway Park"), PicHive asks Apple Maps about a photo's map coordinates. Only the coordinates are sent, never the photo. Apple handles these requests under Apple's privacy policy.
Location and contacts (optional)
If you choose to set your home from where you are now, or from your own contact card, PicHive uses that once to find your home. A contact card's address is looked up with Apple Maps to place it on the map. Neither is sent to us.
Sync between your devices
Your choices (for example photos you left out, your named places and your History) sync between your devices through your own private iCloud, using Apple's CloudKit. This data is encrypted so that only your devices can read it. We can't see it.
Purchases
Subscriptions are handled by Apple through the App Store. We don't receive your payment details.
Analytics
The App Store version collects nothing. During the beta test (TestFlight), PicHive keeps simple counts on the device (for example how many suggestions were accepted). They contain no photos, places or album names, and they're shared only if a tester chooses to send them.
Children
PicHive doesn't collect data from anyone, including children.
